ACE Bulletin

Published by the Advisory Centre for Education (ACE), which is an independent national advice centre for parents, which offers information about state education in England and Wales. Adoption and Fostering

Published by BAAF, the British Association for Adoption and Fostering. It includes contributions from social workers, social work managers, carers, medical practitioners, lawyers and researchers. It offers: An all-round perspective on developments in adoption and fostering including support for foster carers and adopters; Comment on how law and policy affect practice with children and families; Articles on family support and child protection; Recent developments in research and theory with implications for practice; Health notes and legal notes for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland; Newspoints, book reviews and abstracts; Online access for subscribers including back issues to 1999.
A subscription buys 4 x 3-monthly issues. Cost for 2006-7 is (UK): Individuals £55, Institutions £105, Students £25. BAAF members receive the journal and are entitled to online access along with many other benefits through their membership fees. Individual membership costs from £69 per year

Child Abuse Review

The official journal of BASPCAN - British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Child Abuse Review provides a forum for all professionals working in the field of child protection, giving them access to the latest research findings, practice developments, training initiatives and policy issues. It is published bi-monthly by John Wiley & Sons Ltd. BASPCAN members automatically receive the journal as part of the membership entitlement. Individual membership costs £75, (£65 if pay by direct debit); Organisational Group membership is £120, Agency membership is £220.

Childcare in practice - Journal

This is Northern Ireland's foremost Journal of multi-disciplinary child care practice. Publishing the best of both practice and research from all professions involved in the provision of children's services from both the UK and the Republic of Ireland, it is published quarterly, and the journal is peer reviewed to ensure the highest of standards. Subscriptions cost: Institutional rate (print and online) £146; institutional rate, online only £138, Personal rate £54. Children in Scotland Magazine

This is Children in Scotland (the voluntary organisation)s monthly subscription magazine. It aims to be an essential guide to the latest developments in policy, legislation and research affecting those working with or for children and young people in Scotland. It has contributions from professionals, academics and policy and decision makers, as well as input from children and young people themselves. Articles from it are available on the website to members. Members subscription is £28, non-members is £38. (There are reductions if buying multiple copies).
