Children of prisoners

Children have a right to live with their family whenever that is possible and is what is best for them.

Sometimes it is not possible, for various reasons, like if a parent breaks the law and they are sent to prison.

There are other punishments like community service or probation yet children's rightts are rarely taken into account.

You can read more about young people's rights in relation to this issue here.

You can also visit Families Outside for further advice and information online.
