How to influence

Everyday adults make decisions that affect young people in Scotland. Now's the time to influence them!

You can influence people and bring about change by:

  • starting a blog
  • writing to a newspaper
  • organising a petition
  • building a website

Did you know that by simply organising a petition Glasgow teenager Ryan McLaughlin caused the NHS in Scotland to launch an awareness campaign about Vitamin D deficiency?

Ryan simply acted on his concerns and you can do the same too! His incredible story can be read here.

Or maybe you can start a campaign about something that annoys you? A group in Dumfries have successfully campaigned against cuts to services by their local council - their MySpace page is brilliant and you can see it here.

Your future is in your hands so it's time to do something about it. To get you inspired, why not read some stories about young people who did something to influence the views of adults?

If they can do it, so can you!
