A core principle of the UNCRC is a commitment to giving children and young people the opportunity to be involved in the decisions that affect them. This is reflected in the Act establishing the post of Commissioner as it requires the Commissioner to consult with children and young people on the issues that he should be working on and to involve them in that work.
A RIGHT blether is the Commissioner's consultation with children and young people. It was the biggest consultation ever in Scotland, and 74,000 children and young people voted to tell Tam what they think he and others should work on to make all children and young people's lives better in Scotland. A RIGHT blether will directly influence the Commissioner's programme of work over the next four years (2011- 2015).
Visit www.arightblether.co.uk to see the results to the consultation and find out more about all the elements of A Right Blether, children and young people’s rights, and the UNCRC.
