A caring partnership
More than 1,200 councillors are to be trained by children in Scotland’s care system in how to be better “corporate parents”, under a two year government-backed scheme.
Over the next two years, every councillor in Scotland’s 32 local authorities will receive the training as will health board members, many other local authority workers and NHS staff. The programme is designed to make councils and health boards better corporate parents for children and young people who are “looked after’ in the care system.
